1.With the number of coronavirus cases increasing in Tamil Nadu, the State government has made ‘Auto ePass’ mandatory for all international and domestic passengers coming from other States/UT excepting Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. An order issued by the Health Secretary says that business travellers visiting the State for a short stay of 72 hours are exempt from home quarantine norms.

2.The Union Health Minister stated that on 7th March 2019, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had declared that henceforth 7th March every year would be celebrated as Jan Aushadhi Diwas for promoting and increasing the outreach of generic medicines.

5.The Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh addressed the 76th Annual Conference of Association of Physicians of India (API), which is being held virtually this year in the wake of the pandemic constraints. The theme of this year’s API conference was “Engaging Minds: Empowering Medicine”.

6.National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) partnered with SBI Payments to announce the launch of ‘RuPay SoftPoS’ for millions of Indian merchants. This innovative solution has the capability to transform (Near-Field Communication) NFC enabled smartphones into merchant Point of Sale (PoS) terminals for the retailers.

7.A new cultural centre of the High Commission of India was inaugurated by the External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in Dhaka. It is the second cultural centre of the High Commission of India after the Dhanmondi centre at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Dhaka.
