1. The Water Resources Department has revived and started using Baby Canal after nearly a decade, a channel that carries surplus water from the Poondi reservoir to the waterbody in Cholavaram, which is a buffer source for Chennai’s drinking water supply.

4. The Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians 2020 was awarded to Dr. Carolina Araujo, Mathematician from the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her work area focuses on birational geometry, which aims to classify and describe the structure of algebraic varieties. The first non-Indian to receive this prize and will be a role model for all women.
