1. The Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palaniswami has announced an increase in the subsidy for Christians going to Jerusalem on pilgrimage. He said the subsidy of ₹20,000, now being granted for Christian pilgrims from Tamil Nadu to Jerusalem, was being increased to ₹37,000.

ஜெருசலேம் புனித யாத்திரைக்கு வழங்கப்படும் அரசு உதவித் தொகை 20 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயில் இருந்து 37 ஆயிரமாக உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும் என்று முதல்வர் பழனிசாமி அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

 

2. A Team of researchers has discovered an inscription, dating back to the late Pandya period, engraved on the rear wall of the sanctum sanctorum of the Varadaraja Perumal temple in Ayyur Agaram, in Villupuram district.

3. The first rescue and rehabilitation centre for monkeys in Telangana was inaugurated at Gandi Ramanna Haritavanam near Chincholi village in Nirmal district. It is the second such facility for the primates in the country.

5. In an emergency Cabinet Meeting held on December 20, Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli recommended the dissolution of Parliament of Nepal and called for a general election. The decision was ratified by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari in an official announcement hours later.
