SSC: Stands for Staff Selection Commission
GD: General Duty
SSC GD 2018 exam will recruit candidates for paramilitary forces like CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NIA, SSF and Riflemen in Assam Rifles. So, candidates who are willing to work for the armed forces must apply for this post.
The role and responsibilities allotted to the GD constables is mentioned below.
- He/ she will be appointed as an in-charge of guard or escort at the time of deputation.
- He/she will be liable to obey the duties handed over by the SHO to him.
- GD constables are responsible for the overall activities in absence of Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-inspectors.
- He/she has authority to inquire and investigate of any case when Sub-Inspector tells him/her to do so.
Salary
Pay Scale: Rs 21700- 69100.
Promotion of a GD Constable solely depended on the performance of the candidates. The promotion based on ranking of a GD Constable are as follows:
- Senior Constable
- Head Constable
- Assistant Sub-Inspector
- Sub-Inspector
- Inspector
