1.The university to be set up in Villupuram following the bifurcation of Thiruvalluvar University in Vellore will be named after former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. The proposed Dr J. Jayalalithaa University will have jurisdiction over Villupuram, Kallakurichi and Cuddalore districts, with the exception of areas specified under the provisions of the Annamalai University Act, 2013.
திருவள்ளூர் பல்கலைகழகத்தை பிரித்து முன்னாள் மறைந்த முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதாவின் பெயரில் புதிய பல்கலைக்கழகம் உருவாக்கப்படும் என்று தமிழக அரசு ஏற்கனவே அறிவித்திருந்தது. அதை நிறைவேற்றும் விதமாக சட்டப் பேரவையில் மசோதா தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதையடுத்து விழுப்புரத்தில் ஜெயலலிதா பெயரில் பல்கலைக்கழகம் கட்டப்பட்ட பின்னர் கடலூர், விழுப்புரம், கள்ளக்குறிச்சி உள்ளிட்ட மூன்று மாவட்டங்களிலும் இயங்கும் கல்லூரிகள் அனைத்தும் இந்த பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் கீழ் செயல்படும் என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் கல்லூரிகளின் நிர்வாக வசதிக்காக விழுப்புரத்தில் புதிதாக ஜெயலலிதா பல்கலைக்கழகம் அமைக்கப்பட உள்ளதாக தமிழக அரசு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
2.The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palaniswami has announced police residential schools would be set up in Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchi, Tirunelveli and Vellore to offer quality education to the children of police personnel on the lines of the one in Chennai.

4.The National Horticulture Fair will start on February 8, 2021. It is a five-day event that will be organised at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) campus. The theme of the National Horticulture Fair 2021 will be: ‘Horticulture for Start-Up and Stand-Up India’. The fair will be organised by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR).

8.A new intergovernmental organisation called Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) Council has been formed with the intention of building the world’s largest radio telescope. On February 4, the council held its first-ever meeting to approve the plans and start a new journey in space exploration. Though it is headquartered in the UK, SKAO has members from Australia, Canada, China, India, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden and the Netherlands.
