இந்திய விண்வெளி அறிவியலாளரும், இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆய்வு நிறுவனத்தின் (இஸ்ரோ) முன்னாள் தலைவருமான கஸ்தூரிரங்கன் (Kasturirangan) பிறந்த நாள் அக்டோபர் 24. அவரைப் பற்றிய அரிய முத்துக்கள் 10:
# கேரள மாநிலம் எர்ணாகுளத்தில் (1940) பிறந்தவர். இவரது குடும்பம் நெல்லை மாவட்டத்தை பூர்வீகமாகக் கொண்டது. மும்பை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் இயற்பியலில் முதுநிலைப் பட்டம் பெற்றார். அகமதாபாத் இயற்பியல் ஆய்வுக் கூடத்தில் பணிபுரிந்தார். 1971-ல் விண்வெளியியல், விண்வெளி இயற்பியலில் முனைவர் பட்டம் பெற்றார்.
