1. The Chief Minister-designate of Tamil Nadu M.K. Stalin on May 4 announced that journalists will be treated as frontline workers in Tamil Nadu.
தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சராக பொறுப்பேற்கவுள்ள மு.க. ஸ்டாலின் அவர்கள் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் அனைவரும் முன்களப் பணியாளர்களாக கருதப்படுவார்கள் என்று அறிவித்துள்ளார். இதன்மூலம், முன்களப் பணியாளர்களுக்குரிய உரிமைகள், சலுகைகள் அனைத்தும் பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கும் வழங்கப்படும்.

2. Ayush-64 is an Ayurvedic formulation, developed by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the apex body for research in Ayurveda under the Ministry of Ayush. Originally developed in 1980 for the management of Malaria, this drug has now been repurposed for Covid 19 as its ingredients showed notable antiviral, immune-modulator, and antipyretic properties.

5. The Indian Army has established its first green solar energy plant at an altitude of 16,000 feet in northern Sikkim to harness renewable energy for its troops.

The Government of India has notified a revenue threshold of Rs 2 crore and a limit of 300,000 users for non-resident technology firms such as Google, Facebook, Netflix, to pay tax in India under new or revised bilateral tax pacts. This is part of the Significant Economic Presence (SEP) principle, which was introduced in the Finance Bill 2018-19.
