1. The Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has announced the winners of the Thiruvalluvar Thirunal Awards and the Chithirai Tamil New Year Awards.The Government of Tamil Nadu has instituted various awards in the name of Tamil scholars and selfless leaders who have contributed to the development of the Tamil language and literature and the upliftment of the Tamil community.

தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கிய வளர்ச்சிக்கும் தமிழ்ச் சமுதாய உயர்வுக்கும் தொண்டாற்றிப் பெருமை சேர்த்த தமிழ்ப் பேரறிஞர்கள் மற்றும் தன்னலமற்ற தலைவர்கள் பெயரில், தமிழ்நாடு அரசு பல்வேறு விருதுகளை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. அந்த வகையில் திருவள்ளுவர் திருநாள் விருதுகள் மற்றும் சித்திரைத் தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டு விருதுகளுக்கான விருதாளர்களை முதல்-அமைச்சர் எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி அறிவித்துள்ளார்.

 

2. The Department of Archaeology in Tamil Nadu has decided to launch excavations in seven more sites and field studies in two places.

தமிழகத்தில் மேலும் 7 தொல்லியல் அகழாய்வுகள் நடத்த மத்திய அரசு அனுமதி வழங்கியுள்ளதாக தொல்லியல் துறை ஆணையர் உதயசந்திரன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

3. The Indian Armed Forces is celebrating Veteran’s Day on 14 Jan 2021. The day was chosen as recognition of the services rendered by the first Commander-in-Chief of Indian Armed Forces, Field Marshal KM Cariappa, who retired on this day in 1953.

இந்திய ஆயுதப் படைகள் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜனவரி 14ஆம் தேதியை மூத்த வீரர் தினமாக கொண்டாடுகின்றன. 1953 ஆம் ஆண்டு இதே நாளில் ஓய்வுப்பெற்ற இந்தியாவின் முதல் தலைமை கமாண்டர் ஃபீல்டு மார்ஷல் ‘கோடந்தேரா’ எம் கரியப்பா அவர்கள் ஆற்றிய சேவைகளின் அங்கீகாரமாக இந்த நாள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது.

 

4. The Supreme Court has admitted a petition filed by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) seeking to exempt armed forces personnel from the ambit of a Constitution Bench judgment of 2018 that decriminalised adultery.

கள்ள உறவு குற்றமில்லை என்ற 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு உச்சநீதிமன்ற அரசியலமைப்பு அமர்வு தீர்ப்பிலிருந்து ஆயுதப்படை வீரர்களுக்கு விலக்கு அளிக்க கோரி பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சகம் (MoD) தாக்கல் செய்த மனுவை உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டுள்ளது.
