1. The Chief Minister K Palaniswami inaugurated the newly-formed Mayiladuthurai district. The 38th district in the state has been carved out of Nagapattinam district. The new district comprises four taluks – Mayiladuthurai, Sirkazhi, Tarangambadi, and Kuthalam. The Chief Minister announced the formation of this district during March this year and the G.O was issued during April. R Lalitha, who served as the special officer for district formation has taken charge as the district collector. IPS officer Srinatha has been appointed as the superintendent of police.

 

தமிழகத்தின் 38 வது மாவட்டமாக மயிலாடுதுறை மாவட்டத்தை முதலமைச்சர் பழனிசாமி காணொலி காட்சி மூலம் தொடக்கி வைத்தார். நாகப்பட்டினம் மாவட்டத்தை பிரித்து, புதிதாக மயிலாடுதுறை மாவட்டம் உருவாக்கப்படும் என்று கடந்த மார்ச் மாதம் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. அதற்கான அரசாணை ஏப்ரல் மாதம் வெளியிடப்பட்டது. மேலும், மயிலாடுதுறை மாவட்டத்தின் எல்லைகளை வரையறை செய்வதற்கு, சிறப்பு அதிகாரியாக பணியாற்றிய லலிதா ஐ.ஏ.எஸ். ஆட்சியராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். மாவட்ட காவல்துறை கண்காணிப்பாளராக ஸ்ரீநாதா ஐ.பி.எஸ். ஆகியோர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

2. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the 100th Kisan Rail from Sangola in Maharashtra to Shalimar in West Bengal via video conferencing. This train will help in bringing perishable agricultural produce like vegetables and fruits to the market in a short period of time

3. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first-ever driverless train operations on Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line through a video conference.

 

நாட்டிலேயே முதல்முறையாக ஓட்டுநர் இல்லாமல் இயங்கும் மெட்ரோ ரயில் போக்குவரத்தை டெல்லியில் பிரதமர் மோடி தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.

 

4. Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare inaugurated India’s first pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV). The vaccine “Pneumosil” has been developed by the Serum Institute of India Private Limited (SIIPL) in collaboration with partners like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

5. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare digitally inaugurated the 7th National Summit on Good, Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Healthcare Systems in India which was organised by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

6. The Central Government removes prohibition for the export of all varieties of Onions with effect from 01.01.2021.

 

அனைத்து வகையான வெங்காயத்தையும் ஏற்றுமதி செய்வதற்கு ஜனவரி ஒன்றாம் தேதி முதல் மத்திய அரசு அனுமதி அளித்துள்ளது. கடந்த செப்டம்பர் மாதம் வெங்காயம் விலையை கட்டுப்படுத்த அனைத்து வகையான வெங்காயம் ஏற்றுமதிக்கு மத்திய அரசு தடைவிதித்திருந்தது.

 

7. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has been declared as the best performing civic body in the country under the annual awards for excellence instituted by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to recognise the outstanding contribution of PMAY-Urban in 2019.

8. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K. Sivan has said the organisation was developing “green propulsion” technology, believed to be less harmful to the environment, for its human space flight missions.

During the pandemic, the Bihar government took the initiative to transfer financial assistance directly to the accounts of 21 lakh stranded workers outside Bihar through the Bihar Sahayata Mobile App. The Chief Minister Secretariat, the Disaster Management Department and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) of Bihar have won the central government’s Digital India Awards. The Digital India Awards formerly known as Web Ratna Awards is an initiative to acknowledge the exemplary initiatives in e-Governance.

10. Based on the recommendations of the GST Law Committee to curb tax evasion by way of fake invoicing, the government has notified new indirect tax rules that makes cash payment of 1 percent of GST tax liability mandatory for businesses whose taxable supply value exceeds Rs 50 lakh in a month. This change will come into effect from January 1, 2021.
