1. A Senior oncologist and the chairperson of the Adyar Cancer Institute Dr V Shanta passed away on January 19. Dr V Shanta was awarded the Padma Shri (1986), Padma Bhushan (2006), Padma Vibhushan (2016) and the Ramon Magsaysay (2005) awards for her efforts towards making quality and affordable cancer treatment accessible to all patients. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award (2011) and Avvaiyar Award (2013) from the Tamil Nadu government.

புகழ்பெற்ற சென்னை அடையாறு புற்றுநோய் மருத்துவமனையின் தலைவர் மருத்துவர் வி.சாந்தா ஜனவரி 19 அன்று காலமானார். 60 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேலாக அடையாறு புற்றுநோய் மருத்துவமனையின் தலைவராக பணியாற்றிய சாந்தா, புற்றுநோய் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு பணியில் இந்திய அளவில் முன்னோடியாக கருதப்படுகிறார். இந்திய அரசின் உயரிய விருதுகளான பத்மஶ்ரீ (1986), பத்ம பூஷன் (2006), பத்ம விபூஷண் (2016) ஆகிய விருதுகளையும், தமிழக அளவில் வாழ்நாள் சாதனையாளர் விருதும் (2011) ஔவையார் விருதும் (2013) பெற்றுள்ளார். மேலும் இவர் ரமோன் மக்சேசே விருதும் (2005) பெற்றுள்ளார்.

2. The Union government has announced that the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to be celebrated as ‘Parakram Diwas’ on 23rd of January every year. The Ministry of Culture has announced that the year-long celebrations to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary year of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will formally commence on 23rd January, 2021.

நேதாஜி சுபாஷ் சந்திர போஸின் 125-வது பிறந்த நாள் ஜனவரி 23 முதல் ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு கொண்டாடப்படும் என்று மத்திய கலாச்சாரத்துறை அமைச்சகம் அறிவித்துள்ளது. நேதாஜி சுபாஷ் சந்திர போஸ் நாட்டுக்கு ஆற்றியுள்ள தன்னலமற்ற சேவையையும், அவரது அணையாத விடுதலை உணர்வையும் போற்றும் வகையில், ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் ஜனவரி 23-ஐ “பராக்கிரம தினமாக” கொண்டாட மத்திய அரசு முடுவெடுத்துள்ளது.

3. The 69th Plenary Session of North Eastern Council (NEC) is being held in Shillong, Meghalaya on 23rd & 24th January, 2021 under the Chairmanship of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Union minister of state (independent charge) for the development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) Dr. Jitendra Singh is the vice-chairman of NEC. The members of NEC are Governors and Chief Ministers of the eight North-Eastern states.

NEC உறுப்பினர்கள் எட்டு வடகிழக்கு மாநிலங்களின் ஆளுநர்கள் மற்றும் முதலமைச்சர்கள் ஆகும்.

4. The Central Government has nominated the non-official members on the National Startup Advisory Council. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) had constituted the ‘National Startup Advisory Council’ to advise the Government on measures needed to build a strong ecosystem for nurturing innovation and startups in the country to drive sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities.

தேசிய தொடக்க நிறுவனங்களின் (ஸ்டார்ட் அப்) ஆலோசனை குழுவுக்கு அரசு அதிகாரிகள் அல்லாத 28 உறுப்பினர்களை மத்திய அரசு நியமித்துள்ளது. நாட்டில் தொடக்க நிறுவனங்களை ஏற்படுத்த அரசுக்கு ஆலோசனை கூறவும், நிலையான பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தவும், வேலை வாய்ப்புகளை அதிகளவில் உருவாக்கவும், இந்த தேசிய தொடக்க நிறுவனங்களின் ஆலோசனைக் குழுவை, தொழில் வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் உள்நாட்டு வர்த்தகத்துறை 2020ம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 21ம் தேதி அமைத்தது.

5. The first meeting of the Committee appointed by the Supreme Court to deliberate with concerned stakeholders on recently notified three Farm Laws, was held on 19.01.2021.

7. The 1st India-EU IPR dialogue was held on 14th January, 2021 between the EU Commission and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) through a virtual platform. The aim of the dialogue was to further strengthen the India-EU relation & facilitate enhanced cooperation in the field of Intellectual Property Rights.
