1.President Ram Nath Kovind on April 12 appointed Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra as the 24th Chief Election Commissioner. The incumbent CEC Sunil Arora’s tenure ended on April 12.
இந்திய தலைமை தேர்தல் ஆணையராக பதவி வகித்து வந்த சுனில் அரோரா ஏப்ரல் 12 அன்று ஓய்வு பெற்றார். இந்த நிலையில், 24 வது தலைமை தேர்தல் ஆணையராக தற்போதைய தேர்தல் ஆணையர் சுசில் சந்திரா ஏப்ரல் 12 அன்று நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். இத்தகவலை மத்திய சட்ட அமைச்சகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
2.Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched a 14-day ‘ mask abhiyan ‘ as part of efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus in view of rising cases and urged people to strictly follow the safety guidelines.

3.Indian filmmaker Guneet Monga has been conferred with honour of the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier dans I’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres). It is the second-highest civilian French honour.

4.The Central drug regulator, DCGA has approved emergency use authorization of the Russian Vaccine, Sputnik V. It has now become the third vaccine to get emergency use authorization from the drug regulator after Covishield and Covaxin.

5.The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal launched a National Education Policy (NEP) Implementation Plan for School Education called ‘Students’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement through Quality Education (SARTHAQ)’. SARTHAQ was developed by the Department of School Education and Literacy.

6.The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal presented the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Lilavati Awards 2020 on women empowerment to the winners in New Delhi. Six higher education institutions have been awarded the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Lilavati Awards 2020 on women empowerment under various sub-themes.
- SWEAT (Sona Women Entrepreneurship and Training) from Sona College of Technology, Tamil Nadu was awarded in the ‘ Women Entrepreneurship’ sub-theme.
- Bharatiya Vidyapeeth was awarded under the ‘Digital Literacy’.
- Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development Pune won the award under the ‘Literacy’ sub-theme.
- WIT Women Health Coalition from Walchand Institute of Technology, Maharashtra won the award under the ‘Women’s Health’ category.
- Radiant Seetha from Thiagarajar Polytechnic College won the contest in the ‘Legal Awareness’ sub-theme.
- Paritrana from St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Tamil Nadu won the award for the ‘Self Defense’ sub-theme.
பெண்கள் அதிகாரம் குறித்த அகில இந்திய தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்வி கவுன்சில் (AICTE) இன் லீலாவதி விருதுகள் 2020 ஐ மத்திய கல்வி அமைச்சர் ரமேஷ் போக்ரியால் புது தில்லியில் வெற்றியாளர்களுக்கு வழங்கினார். ஆறு உயர் கல்வி நிறுவனங்களுக்கு பல்வேறு துணைக் கருப்பொருள்களின் கீழ் பெண்கள் அதிகாரம் குறித்த அகில இந்திய தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்வி கவுன்சில் (AICTE) இன் லீலாவதி விருதுகள் 2020 வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- தமிழ்நாட்டின் சோனா தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்லூரியைச் சேர்ந்த ஸ்வெட் (சோனா பெண்கள் தொழில் முனைவு மற்றும் பயிற்சி) ‘பெண்கள் தொழில் முனைவோர்’ துணை கருப்பொருளில் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- ‘டிஜிட்டல் கல்வியறிவு’ கீழ் பாரதிய வித்யாபீத் நிறுவனத்திற்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- மேலாண்மை மற்றும் தொழில் முனைவோர் மேம்பாட்டு நிறுவனம், பூனே ‘கல்வியறிவு’ துணை கருப்பொருளின் கீழ் விருதை வென்றது.
- மகாராஷ்டிராவின் வால்சந்த் தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனத்தைச் சேர்ந்த WIT மகளிர் சுகாதார கூட்டணி, ‘மகளிர் உடல்நலம்’ பிரிவின் கீழ் இந்த விருதை வென்றது.
