1.The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M K Stalin, on 6 August 2021, inaugurated and presided over an international conference on ‘Ensuring food and nutrition security in the context of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic’ which is organised at the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) in Chennai from 6 to 10 August 2021.

4.The Indian government has approved the appointment of Dr Dhriti Banerjee as the Director of the Zoological Survey of India. It was started in July 1916, the ZSI is headquartered in Kolkata with 16 regional centres under the ministry of environment and forests and climate change.
