1. The Tamil Nadu government’s market borrowings has become ₹60,000 crore for 2020-21 fiscal year, with the State planning to raise ₹1,000 crore more this week.

 

தமிழ்நாடு அரசு இந்த வாரம் மேலும் 1,000 கோடி திரட்ட திட்டமிட்டுள்ள நிலையில் இந்த நிதியாண்டிற்கான தமிழக அரசின் சந்தைக் கடன்கள் 60,000 கோடியைத் தாண்டவுள்ளது.

 

2. The Department of Archaeology recently renovated a granary of the Nayak period and erected a fence around it. It stands as the Nayak kings’ contribution to the Chola era Palaivananathar temple at Thirupalaithurai on the Kumbakonam -Thanjavur road. The circular granary was constructed by Govinda Dikshitar, who was the teacher and chief minister (1600-1634) of Ragunatha Naik and his father Achuthappa Naik.

 

தொல்பொருள் துறை சமீபத்தில் நாயக்கர் காலத்து தானியங்கள் சேமிக்கும் இடம் (granary) ஒன்றை புதுப்பித்து அதைச் சுற்றி வேலி அமைத்துள்ளது. இது கும்பகோணம் – தஞ்சாவூர் சாலையில் திருப்பாலைத்துரையில் உள்ள சோழர் கால பாலைவனநாதர் கோயிலில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இது ரகுநாத நாயக்கர் மற்றும் அவரது தந்தை அச்சுதப்ப நாயக்கரின் ஆசிரியரும் முதலமைச்சருமான (1600-1634) கோவிந்த தீட்சிதரால் இந்த தானியங்கள் சேமிக்கும் இடம் கட்டப்பட்டது.

 

3. The Higher government officials can no longer take shelter under the expression ‘administrative reasons’ for transferring subordinates from one district to another. They have to prove the administrative exigency through sufficient material when transfer orders are attacked on the ground of malice, the Madras High Court has held.

4. The Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy is inaugurating the Tamil Nadu government’s mini clinic project on December 14. The health department has planned to set up 2,000 mini-clinics in the state with one doctor, one nurse and an assistant.

5. Myristica swamp tree frog, a rare arboreal species endemic to the Western Ghats that bears the scientific name Mercurana myristicapalustris, has been recorded for the first time north of the Shencottah gap in the Vazhachal Reserved Forest in Kerala’s Thrissur district.
