1. GoI announces to rename the Rajpath as Kartavya Path

• The government of India has announced to change the name of Rajpath and Central Vista lawns into Kartavya Path. The decision is said to shed remnants of the British colony in India.
• The decision came after a special meeting on September 7, convened with the aim of renaming the Rajpath and Central Vista lawns.
• Earlier, the Modi government had changed the name of the road on which the Prime Minister’s residence is, from Race Course Road to Lok Kalyan Marg.
• Kartavya Path includes the entire avenue and area from the Netaji Statue to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The route runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Raisina Hill through Vijay Chowk and India Gate to National Stadium in Delhi.

2. First LNG truck facility in India opened by Blue Energy Motors

• The long-haul, heavy-duty trucks from Blue Energy Motors, which intends to upend the Indian trucking business by producing clean energy, almost zero emissions vehicles, will run on LNG. The business was inaugrated by Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari.
• Blue Energy Motors has a contract in place with FPT Industrial, the global powertrain brand of the Italian Iveco Group, to launch the first LNG trucks with BS VI-compliant FPT Industrial engines.

3. Europe Heading For Recession As Inflation Crisis Deepens

• The euro zone is almost certainly entering a recession, with surveys today showing a deepening cost of living crisis and a gloomy outlook that is keeping consumers wary of spending. While there was some easing of price pressures, according to the surveys, they remained high.
• The European Central Bank is under pressure as inflation is running at more than four times its 2% target, reaching a record 9.1% last month. The ECB faces the prospect of raising interest rates aggressively just as the economy enters a downturn. A rise in borrowing costs would add to the woes of indebted consumers.
• The euro dropped below 99 US cents for the first time in 20 years today after Russia said gas supply down its main pipeline to Europe would stay shut indefinitely.

4. Rishi Sunak lost to Liz Truss, who takes over as UK’s new Prime Minister

• Liz Truss was elected as the leader of the ruling Conservative Party and the country’s next prime minister. Liz Truss is now the third woman to be elected prime minister of the United Kingdom.
• By more than 20,000 votes, Liz Truss defeated Rishi Sunak, who is of Indian descent. The country is currently experiencing a cost of living crisis, industrial unrest, and a recession.

5. Uttarakhand Govt launched ‘Samarth’ e-governance portal

• The Uttarakhand education department launched an e-governance portal “Samarth”. This portal provides all administrative and educational updates including information about entrance exams, salary structures, and appointments from five state universities and 140 public schools.
• The initiative has been taken in a bid to make the education system more transparent in the state.
• The portal also provides access to 40 academic study modules.
• 200 assistant professors of science subjects will be sent to the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru for special training, while teachers of state universities will be given training at IIM Kashipur.
• The new education policy (NEP-2020) will be also implemented in the state from this session in September.

6. SC Judge DY Chandrachud named as new Chairman of NALSA

• Supreme Court judge Justice DY Chandrachud has been appointed as the next executive chairperson of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). The post was previously held by the Chief Justice of India UU Lalit.
• President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Justice D.Y. Chandrachud as the executive chairman of the NALSA. Before being elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Chandrachud served as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court and prior to that a judge of the Bombay High Court.

7. Government of India announces constitution of National Level Committee

The Government of India has announced the constitution of the National Level Committee for the drafting of the National Cooperation Policy.

The committee under the Chairmanship of former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu consists of 47 members from all parts of the country.

The new policy is being formulated to realize the vision of Sahakar Se Samriddhi under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier announced that a National Cooperation Policy will soon be prepared which will have a holistic approach from the Primary Agricultural Credit Society upwards.

8. BEL tie-up with Smiths Detection to manufacture scanning systems

• Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Smiths Detection, a global leader in threat detection and security inspection technologies, for offering advanced, high-energy scanning systems to the Indian market.
• The MoU, signed for a period of five years and can be extended further by mutual consent, will leverage the high-end, technological capabilities of both firms to meet India’s domestic security needs.

9. 28th Edition of Status Report on India’s External Debt 2021-22 Released

• The External Debt Management Unit (EDMU) in the Department of economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, has released 28th edition of the Status Report on India’s External Debt 2021-22. India’s external debt, at US$ 620.7 billion as at end-March 2022, grew by 8.2 per cent over US$ 573.7 billon as at end-March 2021.
• While 53.2 per cent of it was denominated in US dollar, Indian rupee denominated debt, estimated at 31.2 per cent, was the second largest. External debt as a ratio to GDP fell marginally to 19.9 per cent as at end-March 2022 from 21.2 per cent a year ago. Foreign currency reserves as a ratio to external debt stood slightly lower at 97.8 per cent as at end-March 2022 than 100.6 per cent a year ago.

• அதில் 53.2 சதவீதம் அமெரிக்க டாலரில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டாலும், இந்திய ரூபாய் மதிப்பிலான கடன், 31.2 சதவீதமாக மதிப்பிடப்பட்டது, இரண்டாவது பெரியது. மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தியின் விகிதத்தில் வெளிநாட்டுக் கடன் ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு முன்பு 21.2 சதவீதத்தில் இருந்து 2022 மார்ச் இறுதியில் 19.9 சதவீதமாக குறைந்துள்ளது. வெளிநாட்டுக் கடனுக்கான விகிதமாக வெளிநாட்டு நாணய கையிருப்பு 2022 மார்ச் இறுதியில் ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு முன்பு 100.6 சதவீதத்தை விட சற்று குறைவாக 97.8 சதவீதமாக உள்ளது.

10. Bharat Biotech’s nasal vaccine receives approval for restricted use in an emergency situation

India’s first intranasal COVID vaccine which is developed by Bharat Biotech has received approval for restricted use in an emergency situation.

The Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has termed this feat as a big boost to India’s fight against COVID-19.

The nasal vaccine against COVID-19 in India has been approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation in above the 18-years of age.

As per the Union Minister, the step will further strengthen the government’s collective fight against the pandemic.

• இந்தியாவில் COVID-19 க்கு எதிரான நாசி தடுப்பூசி 18 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களுக்கு மத்திய மருந்து தரக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு அமைப்பால் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• மத்திய அமைச்சரின் கூற்றுப்படி, இந்த நடவடிக்கை தொற்றுநோய்க்கு எதிரான அரசாங்கத்தின் கூட்டுப் போராட்டத்தை மேலும் வலுப்படுத்தும்.

11. President Droupadi Murmu confers National Awards to distinguished teachers

• On the occasion of Teachers Day, President Droupadi Murmu has honoured 45 selected teachers from across the country with National Awards at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi. India is celebrating its 50th National Teachers’ Day.
• The day is celebrated on September 5 every year which is the birth anniversary of India’s second President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was also a scholar, philosopher, and Bharat Ratna awardee.
• The Union Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy constituted an Independent Jury at National Level to bestow the National Award to Teachers (NAT) for the year 2022. Sh. Sidharth made it to the list of 45 outstanding teachers from all over India selected after 3-stage rigorous online transparent process.

ஜனாதிபதி திரௌபதி முர்மு சிறந்த ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு தேசிய விருதுகளை வழங்குகிறார்

• ஆசிரியர் தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு, குடியரசுத் தலைவர் திரௌபதி முர்மு, நாடு முழுவதிலும் இருந்து தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட 45 ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு தேசிய விருதுகள் வழங்கி புது தில்லி விக்யான் பவனில் கௌரவித்தார். இந்தியா தனது 50வது தேசிய ஆசிரியர் தினத்தை கொண்டாடுகிறது.
• அறிஞரும், தத்துவஞானியும், பாரத ரத்னா விருது பெற்றவருமான இந்தியாவின் இரண்டாவது குடியரசுத் தலைவர் டாக்டர் சர்வபள்ளி ராதாகிருஷ்ணனின் பிறந்தநாளான செப்டம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் இந்த தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
• மத்திய கல்வி அமைச்சகம், பள்ளிக் கல்வி மற்றும் எழுத்தறிவுத் துறை 2022 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு (NAT) தேசிய விருதை வழங்குவதற்காக தேசிய அளவில் ஒரு சுயாதீன நடுவர் மன்றத்தை அமைத்தது. 3-நிலை கடுமையான ஆன்லைன் வெளிப்படையான செயல்முறைக்குப் பிறகு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட இந்தியா முழுவதிலும் இருந்து 45 சிறந்த ஆசிரியர்களின் பட்டியலில் சித்தார்த் இடம் பெற்றார்.

12. Indian Army Chief Manoj Pande conferred honorary rank of Nepal Army General

• Indian Army chief General Manoj Pande was conferred the title of Honorary General of the Nepali Army by Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari in Kathmandu.
• General Pande was honoured at a special ceremony at the President’s official residence ‘Shital Niwas’ in the capital city of Nepal. He has also presented a sword and scroll during the function.
• On behalf of the Indian government, General Manoj Pande presented training equipment to Nepali Army, along with Light Vehicles which would augment the capabilities of Nepali Army personnel.

இந்திய ராணுவ தளபதி மனோஜ் பாண்டே நேபாள ராணுவ ஜெனரல் பதவியை வழங்கினார்

• இந்திய ராணுவ தளபதி மனோஜ் பாண்டேவுக்கு நேபாள ராணுவத்தின் கெளரவ ஜெனரல் பட்டத்தை நேபாள அதிபர் பித்யா தேவி பண்டாரி காத்மாண்டுவில் வழங்கினார்.
• நேபாளத்தின் தலைநகரில் உள்ள ஜனாதிபதியின் உத்தியோகபூர்வ இல்லமான ‘ஷிடல் நிவாஸில்’ நடைபெற்ற சிறப்பு விழாவில் ஜெனரல் பாண்டே கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டார். விழாவின் போது வாள் மற்றும் சுருள் ஒன்றையும் வழங்கினார்.
• இந்திய அரசின் சார்பில், ஜெனரல் மனோஜ் பாண்டே நேபாள ராணுவ வீரர்களுக்கு பயிற்சி உபகரணங்களையும், நேபாள ராணுவ வீரர்களின் திறன்களை அதிகரிக்கும் இலகுரக வாகனங்களையும் வழங்கினார்.
