1. The Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh has launched the ‘Services e-Health Assistance & Tele-consultation’ (SeHAT) OPD portal, which will provide telemedicine services to serving military personnel, veterans, and their families.

2. The Indian Air Force (IAF) Squadron Leader Aashritha V Olety recently became India’s first woman flight test engineer. Aashritha V Olety is a native of Karnataka.

4. The TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India) is set to partner with NITI Aayog for the implementation of the Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) initiative under Van Dhan Yojna in 39 Tribal Aspirational districts identified by NITI Aayog.

5. The Chairman of Hyderabad-based AIG Hospitals and Padma Bhushan Awardee Dr. D Nageshwar Reddy has been bestowed with the renowned Rudolf V. Schindler Award from The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He is the first Indian to receive this award, which is named after Dr. Schindler, who is considered the father of gastroscopy.

6. Haryana and Gujarat states have become the first few states to announce reimbursement of Goods and Services Tax (GST) components paid for Covid-19 related medical supplies such as oxygen concentrators, ventilators, medicines which would be donated free of cost to the state governments. Gujarat has announced reimbursement of IGST levied as part of customs on import of Covid related supplies. Haryana has gone a step further by announcing reimbursement of even the Centre’s GST component by deciding to pay back all state, central or IGST portions on Covid related supplies to the state government.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and Switzerland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the first WHO BioHub Facility as part of the WHO BioHub System, which was announced in November 2020. This facility will “enhance” the rapid sharing of viruses and other pathogens between laboratories and partners globally.

The Punjab Government has announced to rename the Mohali International Hockey Stadium after the legendary three-time Olympic gold medal winner and Padma Shri Balbir Singh Senior on his first death anniversary. The stadium will now be known as Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium.
